The Vic Baird Graduate Student Program is named for Vic Baird, deceased, who was a laryngectomee, past president of FLA and a member of the former Voice Institute Faculty. Vic was an educator who retired as a school principal, went back to college and earned a degree in Speech Pathology. The VBGSP will begin just prior to and run concurrently with the FLA Annual Meeting. The program has been designed to provide advanced training for Speech-Language Pathology students in the voice rehabilitation of persons who have lost their larynges usually due to cancer. The detailed program and registration forms will be sent to the Florida universities who will be invited to participate.
